Sunday 24th Jan Red Hill ride.
Over 35 riders arrived bright and early to ride the fine weather conditions and the anticipated dry trails at Red Hill. There were plenty of new faces including 6 kids under 16 years old. The group sustained a reasonable pace for a large group finishing the ride around the big block and back to the Red Hill Caterers Café and Store. Some took on the golf course climb and Waterfall gully road, while the more sensible riders cruised the access tracks at the top of Arthurs Seat. Someone even spotted a Yeti out on the trails.

Australia Day ride.
A much smaller group of 9 riders ventured the Wombat trail, up grassy climb then down the very eroded down hill trail at Eaton’s cutting. Less then 1 minute into the ride and a flat, then later a broken chain, another flat and the same chain gives up again. After plenty of crashes on the down hill it was along McIlroys rd then along the top of Red Hill and back to the Café for coffees.

Tommorrow (Australia Day) we will be riding at 8:00am from the shops at Red Hill Primary School. The ride will be similar to the regular Sunday rides. Hope to see you there.

The regular Sunday rides have been steadily increasing in riders numbers with the improvements in the weather. Last sunday saw over 20 riders, with the youngest being just 10 years old. Young Adam put many of our regular riders to shame with his abilitys and fitness.
We now have an information pack available for download here. It gives a good overview of the club and is useful for informing newcomers and the media of our role in the community. Feel free to download a copy and email it to anyone you think may be interested in the club.
